About Us
About Zimbabwe Visually Impaired Economic Empowerment Organization (ZVIEEO)
Zimbabwe Visually Impaired Economic Empowerment Organization is a Private Voluntary Organization dedicated to transforming the lives of people with visual impairments across Zimbabwe. Founded by a passionate group of individuals who understand the lived realities of visual impairment, our organization is rooted in advocacy, inclusion, and economic empowerment.
Our journey began as a small support group sharing empowerment ideas on virtual platforms. Today, we are a registered and growing national movement focused on enabling self-reliance, providing assistive devices, and ensuring equal access to opportunities for the visually impaired. Headquartered in Norton, ZVIEEO continues to expand its presence, beginning with Mashonaland West Province and aiming to serve communities across the nation.
Our Journey
The seeds of ZVIEEO were sown in July 2023, when 12 visionary individuals came together with one goal: to uplift the visually impaired community through collective empowerment. What began as virtual Sunday sessions evolved into a structured empowerment club, leading to the formation of an executive committee.
Through unwavering dedication, the members launched savings initiatives, developed income-generating ideas, and took steps to register as a legal entity. In April 2024, ZVIEEO placed its public notice as part of the registration process, and by mid-2024, the organization was fully registered as a PVO.
From mushroom and poultry farming to digital advocacy and assistive device access, ZVIEEO continues to grow in strength, purpose, and impact. With over 150 active and passive members, our journey is one of resilience, faith, and community.
